Field Notes — Issue 03
A piece you wait on, then keep.
— On the studio floor, a sleeve takes about eleven hours.
The pre-order isn't a sales tactic; it's the only way the math works. We knit in batches of twelve, by one of three makers, with yarn the dyer prepares for us each season. If you reserve a piece, your name goes on the list, and we knit yours next.
What you'll get isn't perfect, and it isn't trying to be. The seams will sit slightly different from your friend's. The dye will pull a touch lighter on a piece knit later in the run. These aren't defects.
Three collections
Pieces are released across three lines — what's coming, what's now, and what's left from before.
